Daring Damask

Patterns, prints, and fabrics are increasingly popular elements of wedding invitations. Damask, that beautiful, bold pattern walking a fine line between elegant and extravagant, is making a guest appearance as the pattern of choice for wedding invitations that are both traditional and original.

By definition, “Damask” is a figured fabric of silk, wool, linen, cotton, or synthetic fibers, with a pattern formed by weaving. The term originally referred to ornamental silk fabrics, which were elaborately woven in colors and metallics, featuring woven patterns representing flowers, fruit, forms of animal life, and other types of ornament. Today, when we think of damask, we think of that bold black and white (and sometimes chocolate and white) print that provides a fun “pop” to everything it touches.

Here are a few suggestions for incorporating this fearless, fabric-inspired print into your wedding or wedding event invitations:

Black & White Damask Diecut Corner Invitation
Print your own invitations! A hot pink border provides an extra “pop” to these crisp yet creative invitations. This style comes complete with ecru printable cards with designer damask border and ecru envelopes.

Black & White Damask Vellum Band Invitation
An elegantly designed damask vellum band on ecru printable cards with a beveled border, along with a coordinating hot pink ribbons and ecru envelopes make this a classic choice for incorporating a bold design.

Not ready to go all-out damask with your wedding invitations? Try incorporating the fun style into your stationery. These Damask Coco Fold-over Thank You notes will allow you to thank your guests in serious style.
